One year ago
Dear Mies, It was one year ago that we said goodbye to you sitting on my lap in the backyard where you loved it most. So many ailments had caught up to you and we listened as you told us it was time to end your suffering. We think about you so often and have so many wonderful memories over the 17 years you were part of our family. We’ve fostered 29 animals since you left us and know each of them will bring their forever families the love you brought us. People always ask us if it’s hard to say goodbye to our fosters. It’s nothing compared to the sadness of saying goodbye to you.

It’s amazing how much our furbabies impact our lives. I lost my two elderly cats last year and it was terribly hard. I had one for 17 years of his 18 year life! They are gone but not forgotten.
